Ah, Sober October, that magical month where the shift in seasons mirrors the transformative journeys many embark upon. Last month’s challenge series was a great success, so much so that it’s left us floored (in a good way). September saw many of you complete daily tasks, engage in virtual and physical meet-ups, and genuinely transform your lives. It wasn’t just about ditching bad habits; it was about adopting new, healthier ones, and the engagement we saw was truly inspiring. This is precisely why we started the app…
But hang tight because if you thought September was fun, October promises to be an even greater adventure. We’ve listened to your feedback, crunched the numbers, and let’s just say we’ve custom-tailored this new challenge series to offer an experience that takes into account the things you did or didn’t enjoy in September. It’s not one-size-fits-all; it’s one-size-fits-US. Think weekly themes that resonate with different aspects of your journey, a grand prize of a lifetime membership for one lucky Trailblazer, and a series of tasks designed to be both challenging and rewarding.
So, consider this your formal invitation to ‘Own Your Own October.’ Whether you’re a seasoned veteran of sobriety or a newcomer looking to turn over a new leaf, this month offers the perfect opportunity to take control of your narrative. Get ready to make this October unforgettable!
How to Become a Trailblazer
Trailblazers aren’t just born; they’re crafted through dedication, action, and a fair dose of moxie. In the realm of sobriety and self-improvement, trailblazers are fearless leaders who not only take charge of their own journey but inspire others to do the same. Want to be part of this elite club of go-getters? Well, grab your metaphorical hiking boots because we’ve laid out the path for you.
1. Daily Check-Ins Are a Must
Your fellow Trailblazers are on a journey too, and nothing reinforces commitment like a good old-fashioned daily check-in. Not only does this act as a personal accountability mechanism, but it also fosters a sense of community. The group spaces are there for a reason—use them to their fullest potential. Click here to go to the Daily Check-in group.
2. Complete All The Tasks and Share The Journey
The very essence of being a Trailblazer is completing the tasks outlined in our challenges. These aren’t just arbitrary to-dos; they’re stepping stones on your path to a better you. And sharing is caring, right? Post about your completed tasks on the app to inspire and maybe even give that nudge to someone teetering on the edge of commitment.
3. Interact, Don’t Just React
The difference between merely existing and fully living in a community comes from engagement. So, don’t just scroll through the posts—react, comment, share your insights, and ask questions. Be an active member of your groups; your insights could be the catalyst for someone else’s ‘a-ha’ moment.
4. Sobriety Isn’t Just A Goal; It’s The Rule
This one should go without saying, but hey, we’re saying it anyway. Being a Trailblazer in a sobriety-focused challenge means staying sober. Sobriety is your ticket to this exclusive club. No cheats, no shortcuts. You’ve got this.
5. Go For Gold and Be The Gold
Ah, the pièce de résistance of being a Trailblazer—inspiring others. Living your Best Life isn’t just about personal milestones; it’s about setting the gold standard for what a life of sobriety and connection can look like. Your story, your victories, and even your struggles can serve as a beacon for others. While you build your story, you need to share it.
Trailblazers aren’t just participants; they’re the heart and soul of this community. Do you have what it takes to become one? If you’re nodding your head, then lace up those boots and start blazing your unique trail. We can’t wait to see where it leads. Oh, and if you nodded your head until your neck got sore, perhaps you should join our Ambassador program – pop a mail to Al to get going.
How’s it going to work?
Each week of Own Your Own October is themed to build you up and help you get the most out of the week. We’re focused on navigation and planning in October, and we’ll be building on our gains from last month (don’t worry if you’re already seasoned, or if you haven’t particpated yet – you can use the day challenges regardless of where you are in your personal journey). We’re aiming to give you tools, and you’re going to map your journey and blaze some trails.
Week 1, the blueprint phase of your Best Life! This week is about laying down the mental tracks for your month-long journey. It’s all about clarity, vision, and setting achievable yet challenging goals. Through various interactive elements on the app, you’ll kickstart your journey in a communal setting, making the road ahead less intimidating and more inspiring. The collective wisdom of the community can offer creative solutions and fresh perspectives that you might not have considered. So, don’t just plan; plan with flair and shared wisdom.
As you sail into Week 2, it’s time to break down your grand vision into smaller, actionable pieces. This week acts like the trail markers and signposts on your life’s hike, guiding you and giving you occasions to pause, reassess, and celebrate. Interacting with the community will offer you bursts of daily inspiration and motivation. Mark your journey with personal and communal waypoints.
Week 3 is where the rubber meets the road—or, shall we say, the ship meets the wave? Obstacles are inevitable, but they’re also navigable. This week will focus on strategies for overcoming challenges, providing you with a micro psychological toolkit that you can turn to when the going gets tough. You’ll learn from others’ experiences, gaining insights and coping mechanisms you hadn’t considered. By sharing your own challenges and triumphs, you not only reflect but also reinforce your newfound knowledge and strengths.
And finally, Week 4. It’s not just the home stretch; it’s the vantage point from which you can see how far you’ve come and where you’re going next. This week is about reflection and fine-tuning, solidifying what you’ve learned, and planning your path forward. It’s an opportunity to celebrate the transformative power of a community working towards common goals, and it’s also a time for constructive self-reflection, a moment to tweak your methods and adapt your strategies for the journey ahead. The app will give you a mirror and a window—into yourself and others—providing a landscape of experience from which to draw as you move forward and plan your next trek.
